The Semester Project Assignment asks you to research and analyze 2 works of art.
You may choose a painting or a sculpture. You will create 2 separate documents.
You may choose 1 work created prior to the year 1900 and 1 work created after the
year 1900.
For the work created prior to 1900, you may not use works created by the following
artists: DaVinci, Van Gogh, or Michelangelo.
For each art piece you are to analyze the work from all eight of our perspectives:
political, regional, technological, economic, religious/spiritual, ethnicity, gender, and
generational.
The formatting is as follows: each document is 5 (minimum) pages double-spaced
using new times roman or arial #12 font.
Page 1: Your name will be at the top of the page. Half of the page will be the image of
the artwork; the second half will be a description of the work and information about
the artist. Source the information. Do not cut/paste from Wikipedia. Your own
words please.
Pages 2-5: Write one half page (minimum) per topic in the analysis. In each section
you must add 1 reference to support your perspective with the topic. You may use
perspectives from the text, topic modules, outside sources, or peer comments. This
gives each analysis a minimum of 8 references. Your perspectives may go outside
the artwork to incorporate the life of the artist. You must include all 8 perspectives
for each work.
