Strategic planning is a burden that all leaders must accomplish. Organizations define their
strategies and make decisions on allocation of resources to pursue their plans through strategic
planning. Furthermore, strategic planning controls the mechanisms for directing the execution of
the strategies. Strategic planning became prominent in the year 1960 and was perceived as the
most vital aspect of strategic management. The process is implemented by strategists who
involve research resources and many parties in analyzing the organization and the relationship of
it with the surroundings in which it competes. There is no particular definition for the word
strategy. However, a close examination of the definitions stipulated by scholars indicates that
strategy entails determining actions to attain goals, setting goals, and allocating resources to
implement the actions. In other words, strategy prescribes how set objectives or goals will be
attained by the resources or means in place. The burden of formulating strategies in any
organization is tough, and it is borne by the executive managers.
Moreover, strategy can be planned or observed as a pattern of actions as the corporation
adapts to its surroundings or competition. It is common knowledge that planning encompasses
the process of formulation and execution or rather it aids in coordinating the two. However, the
process of formulating strategy is analytical in nature and involves synthesis. As such, tactical
planning process occurs around the policy establishment activity (Jackson & Kelly, 2002). In
education, the common question asked by employers to prospective tutors is what their
philosophy of education is. This question is perceived to be well prepared for by the teachers.
But for the leaders in a K-12 organization, they must have a philosophy and comprehension of
how their philosophy is compared to the standards of the industry, in this case ISLLC (Bestor,

1955). Therefore, this assignment helps one evaluate their philosophy as it likens to the ISLLC
standards.
Due to congested USA curriculum, there has been prolonged underachievement among
students. The students have insufficiently mastered the vital competencies due to the congestion
in the US curriculum. In other words, the high school leavers lack the simple skills and maturity.
From the K-12 planning matrix, it is plain truth that DepED is acknowledged all over the world
for the establishment of functionally educated and compassionate Americans who aid in
achieving the national goals of unity, justice, prosperity, and freedom (Bestor, 1955). The visions
are however focused on human development attained through the revised curriculum with socioeconomic significance. The missions, on the other hand, seek to provide quality essential training
that is equally accessed by all and establish a foundation for entire life training and selfactualization required for effective membership at the local, worldwide, and national wide
ambiance. With inference to the goal analysis, a common denominator is realized. The goals
seek to give every trainee an opportunity to get quality education based on revised and
decongested curriculum acknowledged globally. Besides, the goals seek to adjust how the public
perceives high training as just a preparation for campus. Rather, it should permit all to take
advantage of chances for beneficial employment or self-employment or career in promptly
fluctuating and gradually globalized surroundings. The rationale of the program to advance the
quality of essential training in the United States is considered to be critical and urgent (Jackson
& Kelly, 2002). In addition, it is true that poor quality of essential skills is mirrored in the poor
attained score in the US students.
The plans also focus on the internal and external stakeholders. The internal stakeholders
include teachers, staff workers, and the students. The external stakeholders include the

government, companies and parents. The plans related to stakeholders advocate fair treatment to
all. They seek to protect the human rights from violation. Correspondingly, they state the duties
and responsibilities of each stakeholder towards the achievement of the set goals and objective of
the institution (Freeman, Jacobs, Vining, & Rabin, 1984). Lastly, the plans focus on complains
and probable solutions to the problems. Supervisors are to recognize and keenly monitor the
fears of all genuine stakeholders, and they should take their welfare suitably into account in
operations and decision-making. With regard to facilities, the plans have a common ground that
they seek to encourage proper usage of facilities. The plans state how these facilities are accessed
and at what time are they accessible. The plans provide the guideline on how the available
facilities are shared or allocated among the stakeholders who work in one accord to attain the
same stipulated goals and objective (Freeman et al., 1984). As to professional development, the
plans go for continuous training which enhance skills and performance of an individual. The
plans also focus on the safety of the jobs, rewards, and promotions.
The Program in Informative Governance uses the ISLLC standards as prerequisite for the
learner’s Education Portfolio. There are six standards in total. The administrator is responsible
for ensuring the success of all learners by forming and overseeing the execution of a vision,
nurturing, and sustaining school culture and instructional program conducive to student training
and staff development. Eventually, this will ensuring safe environment for training, working with
the community while addressing their needs, acting with integrity and ethical manner, and finally
comprehending and influencing a larger political, cultural and social environment (Gordon,
2010). Other include influencing cultural influence, resource allocation, responding to diverse
community needs and interests, acting in fairness, collaborating with the community and
families, ensuring the efficiency and management of organizational resources, and ensuring

effective training environment. In fact, these are the key standards that the coordinator who
manages the educational program. Therefore, the best plans which are close or meet these
standards include the plans for professional development.
The relationship between the internal and external stakeholders was considered to be
mutual and beneficial to all parties. Hard work by internal stakeholders positively affected the
external stakeholders. For instance, when the training institutions ensured that they produce
competent students, then the external parties such as factories and government will enjoy the
fruits of qualified expertise. There will be increased production of goods and services, thus
improving the country’s economy and business (Green, 2008). Consequently, such quality
training prevails to be the best to both stakeholders. For students, quality training helps them
build a better future for themselves.
However, the key elements of governance structure evidence in all plans include
stakeholder relation, corporate citizenship, direction, and oversight. With reference to direction,
the tactics of this element include strategic decision making and discussing the present and future
concerns of the organization. In effect, direction is the major part of organizational governance
(Jackson & Kelley, 2002). Oversight ensures that managers act in the best interest of the
stakeholder. Under stakeholder relations governance, it entails institutional accountability to all
its stakeholder groups. Having the strategy that aligns with ISLLC standards ensures quality
training and competence among the trainees. Besides, it helps in improving performances in the
training institutions by strengthening the educational program of curriculum. The knowledge
gained from conducting such a study helps one be creative and innovative. It assists in
formulation of suitable educational programs that best fit the current state.

Collectively, strategic planning is a process in which strategies are made and
implemented. It involves the mobilization of resources and their allocation to attain the stipulated
goals. Planning also helps in decision-making process and in problem solving.
