Some view justice to be harsh judgment and punishment without mercy and perceive love to be a sentimentality where wrong-doing should be overlooked without consequence. The Bible offers a different view of justice and love and shows us that both are integral parts of God’s character. How can this be? Where does justice and love meet, and how does this apply to the field of criminal justice? It is important as practitioners in this field that we not only have sound beliefs and convictions in regards to this, but that we are able to support what we believe with biblical teachings.
